THE END OF THE YEAR POST (Basically covering upsides, downsides, inbetweens, and anything else that could be possible by way of how I feel about this year)

So this is the end of the year blog, which is just kind of a reminder that I won’t be at BT next year (*cries in the bathroom for three hours*, JUST KIDDING IF YOU BELIEVED THAT, but I’m kind of sad about leaving). Anyways, some of the major upsides of being a 7th grader are the extra lunch availabilities, having the right to say you are in middle school, more difficult classes (backfires in a way..), and you can attend more types of extracurricular tournaments, doesn’t directly come from being a 7th grader for the last bit (Quiz Bowl, Science Bowl, Math Counts, Speech, Robotics, and I guess physical sports, I’m not personally a part of the sports teams, but I’m just saying it is available for those who wanted to participate). Other than those I guess there are probably around fifty pros of this year over the previous years, I’m just forgetting them (I just have a severe form of Alzheimer’s, just kidding, but I easily forget things, still).

So, we now head into the inevitable, the DOWNSIDES of this year. The main downside of this year is probably just the sheer difference in the amount of homework of last year compared to this year, but I bet for the main projects, you can probably get them done if you get it done over time. I actually don’t know of any downsides besides the homework factor actually, I was actually expecting a bit more downsides (and I’m pretty sure I didn’t have amnesia this time). The OTHER downside just hit me, a millisecond ago, it was that we couldn’t win finish number one for any of the Quiz Bowl tournaments, which I think is really disappointing, since all the BT participants tried so hard and worked at it for a long time. Also, apparently the 6th graders can go to the World Championships for Robotics and the 7th graders can’t, that is shameful to the name of 7th graders. However, I don’t feel too bad because the only reason they got in was because of another team outside of BT.

Finally, if I got to change 1 thing over the course of this year it would be:

Maybe different topics that we could be learning, maybe programming, engineering/technical work, different wars for history, but that probably won’t change because that probably interrupt future school plans. That’s about it, just a change of topics.

Funny Version: Change the change the one thing over course of the year to infinite changes, and then I would change all the tournament failures to wins and become an omniscient being.

The WW2 project was slightly interesting because I was able to look into WW2 a little more in depth (just because I was now required to do a project on it); however, I already had some knowledge about the war from various sites, books, and biographies. So, I didn’t learn too much about the Holocaust and WW2 in general. Other than that, the other projects didn’t really make that much of an impact on me.
